The general plan for the “transfer of water from the Oman Sea to Sistan and Baluchestan” was approved

In the open session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, reviewing the report of the Civil Commission on the generalities of the plan to transfer water from the Oman Sea to Sistan and Baluchestan province was on the agenda of the open court of the assembly.

The deputies approved the plan with 210 votes in favor.

If the plan is finally approved, the Ministry of Energy, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, will be obliged to provide investment opportunities for water abstraction, desalination and water transfer from the Oman Sea (with priority given to water transfer to Sistan and Baluchestan province).

Out of turn, the plan to transfer water from the Oman Sea to Sistan and Baluchestan province was approved in the previous public session of the parliament based on the note of Article 100, and in today’s session, before the vote, Abdul Jalal Eri Read.

He considered the main problem of the country at the moment as the issue of water supply and said: in the current situation, it is not possible to extract groundwater resources and this water must be supplied from the free sea that leads to the ocean.

Eri emphasized: the plan to transfer water from the Oman Sea to Sistan and Baluchestan has no conflict with the law and this plan has been reviewed by experts and even the water and sewage company agrees with the implementation of this plan.
